We were shoot the cover shot for a book that a TCMaker member is writing about hacker spaces. Someone came up with another take on the cover of the book. Somehow I don’t think this will make the cover.

Leonardo was a hacker, after all. There are 6 paintings that they know he painted. His reputation was earned mostly as a gentleman scientist and inventor, after all. And in true hacker fashion, the painting this photo homages used an experimental technique of “dry fresco” that fell into disrepair within DaVinci’s own lifetime, for which he was even sued!

More accurately and amusing, this should be called “The Hacked Up Supper.”

Don’t know how I missed this photo earlier. Marvelous. A copy should be hung somewhere in the space.
Nick is mostly right about Leonardo. There are only about seven or eight, possibly ten, paintings still existing that are attributed to him without much controversy from art historians.
His reputation was otherwise more attributable to his inventions and innovations. His last “job” was as the official designer of spectacles for Francis I, king of France; supplying fireworks, music, and theatrical presentations for parties and public events–in other words: He made cool sh*t for the king.
